to and even then at the very last minute. under romney-care in massachusetts, in many ways, this was the template of the affordable care act. this is where things stood after one month, 123 people have seened up. granted, it is one state, there are 34 states using the federal obama care website. that's about one-third of 1%. after otwo months in massachusetts, just 2,300 people have enrolled. it was only after 11 months under the threat of a penalty about to be imposed that more than 36,000 people in massachusetts would go on to enroll. most of them didn't enroll until that 11-month mark. so obama care can work. it won't kick in until the end of next march, five months from now. getting it to work depends on getting the problems ironed out and getting americans of all ages signed up. the obama administration needs to straighten out the political mess it's created. it's not just one future cabinet secretary at stake. this is the fate of the democratic party and beyond it is tied to whether obama care succeeds. the short term, that means getting the website fixed. in the long

about this they point to the state of massachusetts, there's the model. the state of massachusetts during the first month signed up barely over 100 people. this is the same thing. what is your reaction to that? is it the same thing? is it just a slow rollout? >> well the state of massachusetts didn't throw off more people every day than were able to sign up. the state of massachusetts didn't spend $600 million and have 3 1/2 years to get this ready. and just, i think it was yesterday, the governor of vermont took action to delay at least a month the implementation. this is a very liberal democratic governor in a very liberal state saying this isn't ready. if the administration had been honest about the figures on day one, day two, day three, the truth is, we would have already had some sort of a reasonable time out to give an opportunity for the american people to properly judge cost benefit and hopefully, reverse this terrible trend of throwing people off health care plans that they liked, that did in fact cover them and costs less. that is something that is going on every day in

elected to the massachusetts senate since 1790. pretty disgusting. when i was elected president of the senate in 2007, i was the first woman ever to be elected to lead the legislative body in massachusetts. and today, only 25% of our legislature consists of women. and in the senate, the number has grown to 13. this is not just a problem massachusetts. 18% of the 500 seats in congress are made up of women. there is not enough progress. we need to support women who have dreams of running for office. those of us who are female legislators have to set an example to future generations by showing that it can be done. when i was head of equal pay for equal work, i always said, and i say it today, when you go through the door some of the people here and myself opened pushed open, don't close it behind you. keep it open. the bottom line is, women deserve to be in office. not because of the fact they are women. they are just as qualified and hard-working as men. too many young women do not feel they have enough credentials to run. you heard that tonight. they resign themselves to being co
